LEWIS COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – Black ice likely caused a crash where a tandem semi hit a van along the AA Highway in Lewis County, Ky.

The accident was reported just before 5 a.m.

Dispatchers say the driver of the van lost control and ended up coming to a stop in the middle of the highway. A short time later, the semi ended up hitting the abandoned van.

The driver of the van, who was already out of the vehicle when it was hit by the semi, was taken to a Portsmouth hospital with minor injuries.
