Man Attacked and Robbed; Five Arrested

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Five people have been arrested after police say they robbed and attacked a man.

It happened about 7 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Go-Mart on Bigley Avenue in Charleston.

Police say Gregory Moran was walking across the parking lot when he was approached by two men. They asked him if he wanted to buy some marijuana.

The man refused and that is when police say the two men attacked him. Police say two women and a man also joined in. The man had his clothes ripped and he was shocked with a stun gun.

He was able to get away, but the suspects chased him to the nearby Family Dollar and that is where he was attacked again.

When police arrived they arrested Roland Brumgard,22, Stephon Thomas, 22, Chardene Cope, 21, Lauren Watson, 19 and Juan Chapman, 23. They have all been charged with first degree robbery.

Watson is also charged with possession of marijuana.

It happened about 7:00 p.m. at a house in the 700 block of Bigley Avenue.
