UPDATE 9/19/13 @ 5 p.m.
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Several fire departments battled a fire at a 15,000 square foot office building Thursday.

The fire was reported around 11:30 at 5 Nichols Drive in Barboursville. That's in the Melody T. Farms area.

Crews on the scene tell WSAZ.com the building is the corporate headquarters for the domestic and international operations for Guyan International.

They say there were five employees in the building when it caught fire. They were all able to make it out.

"You watch a building that is only 10 years old, beautiful corporate headquarters burned down right in front of you,” CIO Todd Shell said. “It's a little depressing, but at the end of the day, all of our important documents are safe, and all of our people, most importantly, are safe."

Crews from Barboursville, Ohio River Road, Ona and Green Valley battled the fire.

Smoke from the fire could be seen from Interstate 64.

Crews on the scene say the roof of the building collapsed and the building is a complete loss.

"You're doing everything you can to try to stop it, to try to cut it off, and you have a partial collapse,” Captain Andrew Frazier with the Barbourville Fire Department said. “You have something that happens, and you have to turn around and make it a defensive fire."

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause.

Early reports indicate the fire was not suspicious.

Company officials will meet with their insurance company Friday to figure out where they'll go from here.
