Severe Storms Cause Flooding in Kanawha County

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Severe storms are hitting the Kanawha Valley, causing flooding and mudslides Friday evening.

The West Virginia Department of Transportation is reporting a large mudslide has blocked Interstate 77 South near the Edens Fork Exit.

Dispatchers tell high water is also blocking lanes on Interstate 64 East near the Oakwood Exit.

Two crashes have also been reported on I-64 West near the Oakwood Exit. Two lanes are closed, and traffic is moving in the fast lane.

Flooding also has been reported on Washington Street West in Charleston.
