NEW INFO: Shooting Victim Released from Hospital and Arrested

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A fugitive, who police say accidentally shot himself, is out of the hospital and behind bars.

Police say Ladaren Mixon shot himself in the groin Tuesday morning.

Police say they found heroin on him when he was dropped off at the hospital in Charleston.

He was released Wednesday night and taken to jail.

Mixon has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.

He is also wanted on charges in Michigan.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- New details have emerged in a shooting that ended up with a Detroit man being dropped off outside a Charleston hospital early Tuesday morning, police say.

Officers say it now appears that Ledrain Mixon, 24, accidentally shot himself in the groin. Mixon had given Charleston Police a false name earlier Tuesday.

Mixon had to undergo surgery. Police said they found heroin on Mixon, so he will go to jail when he is released from CAMC General.

Investigators say they are seeing a lot more heroin on the streets of the Kanawha Valley.

Calbon Casdorph and Lajaun Flood dropped Mixon off near the hospital. Both were arrested on drug charges and taken to jail.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police have identified the victim who was shot and then dropped off outside a hospital in Charleston.

Police say Omarion Cooper, 24, Detroit, was shot once in the groin and then dropped off at the emergency room at CAMC General about 4 a.m. Tuesday.

So far no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Police are also trying to determine where the shooting actually took place.

Police say during the investigation they did make two unrelated arrests.

Calvon Casdorph was wanted on a warrant and police say he also had fake drugs on him.

Lajuan Flood, 30, has been charged with simple possession of drugs.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was shot early Tuesday morning and then dropped off at a hospital in Charleston.

Police tell WSAZ.com the man was dropped off at the emergency room at CAMC General about 4 a.m.

The man was shot once in the groin. He was taken into surgery.

Police say they still have not been able to identify the man or pinpoint where the shooting took place.

So far no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

Police say during the investigation they did make two unrelated arrests.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston police are investigating what led to a shooting victim being dropped off at an area hospital.

According to dispatchers, a person was dropped off at Charleston Area Medical Center about 4 a.m. Tuesday. The person is being treated in the emergency room, but no further information about the victim has been released.

It's unclear at this point where or when the shooting took place.

Dispatchers say the person behind the wheel of the vehicle that dropped off the shooting victim drove away.
