CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Oh, the weather outside is frightful -- that line from a popular Christmas carol has turned into a planning nightmare for school districts in our region.
The Kanawha and Putnam County school districts are the latest to amend their school calendars because of snow. Both districts have now extended their classroom instruction until June 6.
"Picking up today was no big deal for most of them," said Tammy Doig, a Charleston teacher. "It's just a normal day ... But when it comes to June and they know we're supposed to be out, it's going to make it a little more difficult for the students to concentrate."
