ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The man wanted in two robberies at an apartment complex in St. Albans was arrested in Charleston.
According to a news release, Shawn Gilmore was picked up on the west side of Charleston about noon Friday, just hours after police obtained warrants for his arrest.
Police say someone recognized him from seeing his picture on the news and called 911.
Gilmore was wanted in connection with two robberies. The first robbery happened on January 28 about 3:25 p.m. at the apartments at 45 B Street.
According to a news release, a woman gave Shawn L. Gilmore, 41, of St. Albans, a ride to the apartments when he knocked her to the ground and tried to take her purse. Police say when the victim tried to fight back, Gilmore took a bottle of pills from her purse and tried to take off. The victim fought back again and was knocked to the ground.
Gilmore got away.
Just days later, on February 2 at 7:30 p.m., at the same apartment complex, another robbery was reported. According to the release, the 17-year-old victim told police Gilmore attacked him when he was inside an apartment. Police say during this robbery, when the victim tried to fight back, Gilmore grabbed a hammer. Police say Gilmore grabbed some cash and took off.
According to the release, police just learned Gilmore was on bond for a drug charge. The Prosecutor’s Office is attempting to have that bond revoked.

St. Albans Police have obtained warrants for Gilmore's arrest.
According to the release, Gilmore also goes by the name of Shawn Teague, Kenneth Teague, Jason Harris and Shawn Clark. He also goes by the nicknames of Bro-Man or Brotherman.
