UPDATE: Deputies Investigating Quincy Stabbing Victim's Story

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) Deputies are investigating a woman’s claim that she was stabbed by another man Thursday morning at about 8 a.m.

The woman told police the man stabbed her several times after they argued about a dog on the front yard of her Quincy Drive home in Quincy.

Deputies tell WSAZ.com they are investigating the possibility that the stab wounds are self-inflicted because her account of events is suspicious.

“That's kind of wild,” said Bruce Pauley, who works near the scene of the stabbing. “To be honest with you, it's crazy.”

The woman told police the suspect ran toward a nearby grocery store which prompted a massive police presence from both West Virginia State Police and the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office including a helicopter and K-9 dogs.

Neighbor Kathy Nichols said “It's really shocking because nothing like that ever happens here.”

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman was taken to the hospital after she told deputies she was stabbed several times during a fight.

It happened about 8 a.m. Thursday along Quincy Drive in Quincy.

Deputies say the woman told them she got into a fight with a man over a dog and that is when he stabbed her.

Investigators say there are some suspicious circumstances about the woman's story.

The preliminary evidence also shows the stab wounds may be self-inflicted, but deputies are still trying to figure that out.

If the woman made up the story, charges could be filed against her.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An argument over an animal led to a stabbing in Kanawha County.

The stabbing was reported about 8 a.m. Thursday along Quincy Drive in the community of Quincy.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies tell WSAZ.com the woman was arguing with a man in the front yard about a dog when he stabbed her several times in the lower part of her body.

Deputies say she was alert when she was taken to the hospital and they don't believe her injuries are life threatening.

The man ran from the scene.

The West Virginia State Police's helicopter was used to help search for the man. So far no arrest has been made.

The stabbing was reported about 8 a.m. Thursday along Quincy Drive.

911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com a woman was stabbed three times in the stomach area. The suspect ran from the scene.

No word on the woman's condition. Investigators are still looking for the suspect.
