ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Umbrellas and ponchos were used by much of the crowd at opening night of Summer Motion.
Wednesday at the 25th annual festival on the Port of Ashland Riverfront Park, people coped with precipitation, or as some call it, liquid sunshine.
Brenda Gillespie from Wheelersburg says nothing short of a tsunami could keep her from coming out to hear one of her favorite bands, the Canadian group Loverboy.
"I grew up with them,” she said prior to the free concert. “I'm just ecstatic."
Summer Motion President Cade Mahan says less than ideal weather won’t get in their way.
"We're used to it,” he said. “We've had it before. We've had torrential downpours before. In 15, 20 minutes we get things wiped down and cleaned up, we're ready to go."
