KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ)-- Business owners were met with heavy crowds and overwhelming orders Sunday afternoon during the Superbowl, requiring a real team effort from their staff.

James Boggess and his crew at Husson's Pizza in Cross Lanes say phones were ringing off the hook all day, keeping workers at the top of their game.

"Thursday and Friday we start doing prep work with extra dough and supplies," he said.

Meantime in Charleston, sports fans packed restaurants on Capitol Street, and staff members at Adelphia Sports Bar and Grill were ready to handle the rush.

"You have so many people and you know you're going to be busy," general manager Tracy Abdallah said. "It's like the opening of a Broadway show...when those doors open, it's showtime."

Bartender Kim Cavender says serving up drinks on Superbowl Sunday takes some major teamwork behind the bar.

"Big crowds means more work and less time wasted," she said." When we're swamped we just basically keep moving and never stop."

Business owners say they saw a drop in crowds Saturday due to the big snowstorm, so they're grateful Superbowl Sunday followed to give them a boost.
