PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- More than 1,100 marijuana plants were eradicated as part of a recent two-day operation involving the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware say the plants have an estimated street value of about $1,000,000.

Donini and Ware want to thank the public for their tips that helped located the plants.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and members of the Special Response Team from the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility assisted in the eradication effort.
