UPDATE: 5th Street Road Reopens after 3-Car Crash

UPDATE 12/31/13 @ 4:55 p.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- 5th Street Road in Huntington is back open after a 3-car crash.

The crash happened about 3:30 p.m. near the top of the hill.

Police say a witness reported a woman driving erratically up the hill. They say the woman crossed the center line and hit two vehicles.

There were no serious injuries.

Charges are pending in the crash.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police say airbags saved three drivers from being seriously injured in a head-on crash.

The crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. near the top of the hill on 5th Street Road in Huntington.

Police on the scene tell WSAZ.com the driver of a car was going up the hill, when she crossed the center line and hit another car. Police say the woman kept going and hit another car head-on.

Police tell WSAZ.com a witness says the driver who caused the crash was driving up the hill erratically before the crash happened.

There were no serious injuries.

The road is expected to reopen shortly before 5 p.m.

Charges are pending in the case.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Emergency crews are on the scene of a three-vehicle crash on 5th Street Road in Huntington.

The accident happened near the top of the hill, between the nursery and the Miller Road intersection, just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

This is just north of the 5th Street exit of I-64.

Huntington Police tell WSAZ.com a witness reported a driver was going uphill and driving erratically when it hit a vehicle going in the same direction, then crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head-on.

No serious injuries have been reported.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area.

5th Street is closed at South Boulevard at this time.
