Trooper Treated for Exposure Following Meth Lab Bust

GRAYSON, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Two people were arrested, and a Kentucky State Trooper was taken to the hospital during a meth lab bust in Carter County.

The incident happened Monday at a home on Karen Circle in Grayson.

Kentucky State Police say they received a tip about a suspected meth lab. When they searched the home and surrounding outbuildings, they found meth, a lab and several precursors to make the drug.

During the search, a trooper was exposed to fumes and had to be taken to a local hospital for evaluation. He was treated and released.

Melissa B. Gollihue, 40, of Grayson, Ky., was arrested and charged with manufacturing meth and possession of a controlled substance.

William D. Lawson, 34, of Sandy Hook, Ky., was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Both are being held in the Carter County Detention Center.
