Truck Carrying Empty Propane Tanks Hits Underpass

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Madison Avenue is closed at West 17th Street in Huntington after a truck carrying propane tanks hit the underpass.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. Friday.

Firefighters on the scene tell WSAZ.com the driver hit the underpass, knocking off the back of the truck.

The trunk was filled with empty propane tanks that were being taken to a scrap yard. One of the tanks fell off the truck.

Traffic is still moving on the connector road above the underpass.

The crash did not damage the underpass.

Madison Avenue and the Interstate exit will reopen once the tank and truck are removed.
