UPDATE: Third Person Arrested in Scioto County Burglary Spree

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man recently was arrested in a burglary ring throughout Scioto County and parts of eastern Kentucky, according to information from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office.

Hank Jones, 18, of Lucasville, Ohio, was charged with four counts of second-degree burglary. Jones appeared Tuesday in Portsmouth Municipal Court and is being held in lieu of $200,000 bond.

Two other people -- Anthony Huff and Mellissa Keating -- were arrested earlier on similar charges related to the crime spree.

Sheriff Marty Donini said several thefts from vehicles and burglaries happened in areas including along Dogwood Ridge Road, Ohio 522, Bussey Road, Herms Hill, Goose Creek and Tipton Lane.

Jones was arrested Sunday during a traffic stop.

Detectives located several stolen items from thefts and burglaries throughout Scioto County, Lewis County, Ky., and Boyd County, Ky. Those items included cell phones, GPS units, purses, wallets, jewelry, iPods, watches, computers, a cook top stove, a microwave and weed eaters.

Donini said the investigation is continuing, and more charges will be submitted to Portsmouth Municipal Court for the misdemeanors. Also, charges will be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury for the felony charges at a later date.

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a crime spree in Scioto County, Ohio.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini says his office received several calls from residents in Stout and Wheelersburg this month regarding thefts.

Deputies say the thefts were similar in both locations. Homes and cars were broken into and purses, wallets, credit cards, gift cards, money, phones and computers were stolen.

Sheriff Donini says investigators got a tip about the suspects staying at a house on Bennett School House Road in Minford. When deputies searched the home they found several stolen items.

Deputies also say they found items stolen from vehicles in Kentucky. They are now working with Kentucky law enforcement on those cases.

Deputies arrested Anthony Huff, 31, of Otway, on four counts of felony burglary and two counts of misdemeanor theft. He is being held without bond.

Melissa Keating, 31, of Ironton, has been charged with one count of felony obstructing justice. She is being held on a $5000 bond.

Sheriff Donini says this is an ongoing investigation and more charges are expected to be filed and more suspects are expected to be arrested.
