Two Men Arrested after Active Meth Lab Found in Clendenin, W.Va.

CLENDENIN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two men were arrested Friday evening after a meth lab was discovered along Bufflick Road in Clendenin, according to a criminal complaint from Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

West Virginia State Police troopers discovered a strong chemical smell coming from an outbuilding near a house.

Troopers said they saw one man actively cooking meth through a window of the outbuilding about 7 p.m. Friday.

Jacob Baire, 33, and Rex Allen Cooper, 46, both were arrested and charged with attempting to operate a meth lab, possessing pseudoephedrine outside its original state and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Both men later were arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
