UPDATE 8/12/14 @ 12:15 p.m.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman has been charged in a stabbing that has left a man in the hospital in Charleston.

Charleston Police tell WSAZ.com two people showed up at a fire station on Virginia Street about 9 p.m. Monday with stab wounds.

Police say the pair claimed they were walking along railroad tracks in the 1000 block of Madison Street when they were attacked by a man who attempted to rob them.

Investigators say they were able to determine that information was false.

They say Alicia Bias, 26, of Charleston and Charles Roberts, 40, of Charleston, got into a fight about heroin.

That is when police say Bias picked up a rock and hit Roberts in the back of the head, then pulled out a knife and stabbed Roberts four times.

Police say Bias also stabbed herself in the leg to make it look like the pair had been attacked.

Both were taken to the hospital.

Roberts is in stable condition.

Bias was treated for her injuries and released.

She has since been arrested on a malicious wounding charge and is now being held in the South Central Regional Jail.
