UPDATE 7/25/14 @ 7:40 p.m.
GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Investigators with the Gallia County Sheriff's Office say one man has been arrested after allegedly shooting two men outside a pool hall Thursday night. It's a scene that left residents who live near by a bit shaken.

"I never thought it would happen around here," Alfonso Blazer said.

Blazer says he was just sitting on his porch, just down the street, when he heard several shots late Thursday night.

"I didn't know what to do," Blazer said. "Run in the house, hide or what. I just didn't know what to do."

Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning said two men, Bruce Friend and Roger Jordan were shot. He says both men, who are from Mason County, W.Va., are lucky to be alive.

"Someone could have very well been killed during that process," Browning said. "Talking to the people that were injured, they were able to tell deputies who it was that attacked them. {They} didn't really get into a whole lot of details over what actually happened. That's something were still investigating."

The suspect they identified was Mitchell Porter. Residents tell WSAZ.com Porter owns and operates the pool hall, and police say he's a familiar face.

"We actually conducted a search warrant there based on drug trafficking," Browning said. "We were able to take the same person into custody at that point several months ago."

The sheriff's office is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but says drugs likely played a factor.

"You can kind of look into the history of the pool hall and what activity we've had in the past," Browning said, "and I think, someone could speculate, maybe there was some drug activity, but that's something we'd have to look into to confirm."

Browning said investigators obtained surveillance video from a nearby business. The sheriff's office is not ready to release the video. It's now being sent off to Ohio BCI in Columbus, where investigators hope to get it enhanced to help their investigation.

The suspect in this shooting, Mitchell Porter, will likely be arraigned sometime next week.
