UPDATE: Man Dies from Injuries in Dunbar Crash

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man died Wednesday from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on West Washington Street in Dunbar, Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say.

Charles Slater, 33, of Scott Depot, W.Va., is identified as the victim. He was driving a Range Rover SUV that collided with a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.

That crash was reported about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and happened at a time when weather was said to be a factor in other crashes throughout the Kanawha Valley.

Two other people were hurt in the Dunbar accident, but their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Multiple wrecks have been reported Tuesday evening throughout Kanawha County, including one that temporarily closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 64, Metro 911 dispatchers say.

That crash involved several vehicles and ended with a car rolling over near the 46-mile marker. The westbound lanes between Cross Lanes and Nitro were closed briefly. That accident was reported about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

It was unknown if anyone was seriously hurt in that accident.

Meanwhile, other accidents were reported throughout the Kanawha Valley, including one on West Washington Street in Dunbar that involved a Range Rover SUV and a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.

Two people in the pickup truck and one person in the Range Rover all were taken to the hospital. The driver of the Ranger Rover is said to be seriously hurt.

That accident was reported about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Dispatchers say heavy rain appears to have contributed to several crashes throughout the Kanawha Valley Tuesday evening.

High water is reported in some parts of the Kanawha Valley, including in the Cross Lanes area.
