UPDATE: One Arrested after Shooting; Camper Burned

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – Investigators say a fire that damaged a camper is related to a shooting that happened Monday night in McDermott, Oho.

The camper that burned was located at 42 Oak Street in McDermott, Ohio. The fire was reported just after 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s office say arson is the likely cause of the fire.

The agency is offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the fire.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into a shooting that is related to the arson.

Monday night, Larry Scoggins, 39, called 911 saying he was in a vehicle and had been shot multiple times by a person who was in another car. The shooting happened about 6 p.m. on Tatman-Coe Road

Tuesday, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Lee F. York, 26, of McDermott with attempted murder in connection with the shooting.

Investigators say 25-year-old Steve Hodge of McDermott was driving the suspect vehicle.

Sheriff Marty Donini say that on Wednesday, Hodge turned himself and was later released without being charged.

Donini says he is now considered at witness in the case. He told detectives he had no prior knowledge that York was going to pop up thru the sunroof and start shooting.

MCDERMOTT, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man wanted in connection with a shooting that happened Monday night in McDermott, Ohio has been arrested.

The Scioto County Sheriff's Office tells WSAZ.com that Lee F. York was arrested just before noon on Tuesday.

He is charged with attempted murder in the connection with a shooting that happened just after 6 p.m. on Tatman Coe Road.

The Scioto County Sheriff's Office says Larry Scoggins, 39, called 911 saying he was in a vehicle and had been shot multiple times.

He was taken to a Columbus hospital.

Investigators are still trying to track down Steve Hodge.

MCDERMOTT, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Two men are on the run, and another is in the hospital after a shooting Monday night.

It happened around 6 p.m. In McDermott, Ohio.

The Scioto County Sheriff's Office says Larry Scoggins, 39, of McDermott, called them just after 6 p.m. saying he had been shot multiple times.

Detectives say Scoggins was shot in a vehicle on Tat Man Coe Road in McDermott. He is recovering in a Columbus hospital.

They are currently looking for Lee F. York, 26, and Steve Hodge, 25, both of McDermott. Investigators say they could be in a black Pontiac Sunbird with ground effects and a sun roof.

A warrant has been filed for Lee York. He will be charged with attempted murder when he is caught.

Sheriff Marty Donini asks that if you have any information about the suspect vehicle or where these two men may be, call 740-351-1092 immediately.
