UPDATE 10/5/12 @ 5:30 p.m.
CLENDENIN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two days after someone robbed a video gaming parlor in Clendenin, the search continues for the suspect. Now police are looking toward the community for help.
The robbery happened Wednesday morning at a busy intersection. Police believe someone might have witnessed something suspicious that morning, and they need that person to give them a call so they can solve what they’re calling an unacceptable crime.
"Stuff like this normally doesn't happen in Clendenin," Clendenin Police Chief David Brinckman said.
The brazen robbery that happened in broad daylight has Brinckman searching for clues and asking why.
"You have a victim inside here who two days later is still shaken from this incident,” he said.
The robbery happened early in the day Wednesday next to a busy street.
"When I stand here and just looking at you and behind you is a three-way intersection, and it's busy all of the time except in the middle of the night," Brinckman said. "It makes me wonder that I’ve not got a call from somebody that saw something here."
"This was well planned out,” customer Roy Lyons said. “Somebody knew what they were doing."
Lyons said he stops by The Hot Spot just about every day. He said the workers inside are so upset by what happened that he actually sat inside with one of them Thursday night so she wouldn’t be alone.
"You can't tell me they're not scared,” Lyons said. “Especially when there's nobody that comes in sometimes for a half hour or more. You don't know what's going to walk through that door. Sure they're scared. I'd be scared."
Police are working on getting surveillance video from neighboring businesses to see if that could help provide any clues. They’re asking anyone who might have seen something or heard something to come forward and give them a call.
Police also don’t want to release too many details about the robbery because they don’t want to jeopardize the investigation.
Clendenin Police say The Hot Spot on Elk River Road was robbed about 9 a.m. Wednesday.
So far, there are no suspects in the case.
No other details have been released.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Clendenin Police Department.
