Weather Blamed for Deadly Crash

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman is dead after she lost control of her car and hit a tree.

It happened about 4 p.m. Thursday on Route 34 near Kenna Elementary School in Jackson County, West Virginia.

West Virginia State Police tell WSAZ.com, Kelsey Ray, 23, of Ripley was killed in the crash.

Troopers say the accident happened during a strong thunderstorm and they believe Ray hydroplaned and slid into a tree.
