CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A work release inmate from the Boyd County Detention Center is back in jail.
Michael Meadows, 24, took off Saturday while working at a church on Carter Avenue in Ashland. Meadows was helping clean up after a pancake breakfast.
Meadows was booked in the Western Regional Jail Monday night.
Meadows was arrested by Huntington Police after they received information that he was staying at a residence on West 6th Avenue.
According to the police report, when officers went to the residence, Meadows ran out the back door. Officers were able to arrest Meadow following a short foot chase.
Meadows is currently being held in Cabell County on a fugitive from justice warrant. He was serving time in Boyd County for second-degree disorderly conduct.
Meadows only had a couple months left in jail. Now he could end up spending another year behind bars.
The Boyd County Detention Center says Michael Meadows escaped.
Deputies say he was working at a church on Carter Avenue.
He was helping clean up after a pancake breakfast, when he took off.
Meadows was serving time for 2nd degree disorderly conduct.
He only had 90 days left in jail.
Now he could end up spending another year behind bars.
