West Virginia officials say they're grateful that Hollywood is telling the story of Marshall University's rebuilding after a 1970 plane crash killed most of the football team, several coaches and fans.

The Warner Brothers film "We Are Marshall" premieres tonight in Huntington. At a news conference Tuesday, Governor Manchin said he's touched that the story finally is being told on the big screen.

Senator Jay Rockefeller said that when there is a tragedy, West Virginians alway grows stronger. Congressman Nick Rahall says the movie shows that those who lost their lives did not die in vain.

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito says the movie also is special for her because her father, former Governor Arch Moore, was governor at the time of the November 14th, 1970 plane crash.

About 2,200 tickets were sold for the premiere at Huntington's historic Keith-Albee theater. Another 28-hundred people will see the premier at a nearby movie theater complex.
