After a lot of debating, a gubernatorial appointment and a state Supreme Court order, it's time for you to choose whom you would like to be the Governor of West Virginia.

The primary election is set for May 14, and the general election will take place on October 4.

The state Supreme Court ordered that a new governor had to be elected by November 15th. That is one year from the day Senator Joe Manchin stepped down and Gov. Tomblin took over as acting Governor.

The candidate that is elected during the general election will only serve a one-year term, which is the remainder of what would have been Senator Manchin’s second term as Governor.

The elected candidate will then have to run for re-election in 2012, which is a Presidential election year, to fulfill a four-year term.

As part of WSAZ.com's goal to inform voters, we have been sitting down with each of the candidates is a series called "Who's Running." If you would like to watch the videos, click the link below.
