PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Little League Coach LuJack Barnett has inspired kids for decades and remains a kid at heart himself.

Barnett, who is nearly 77, has coached for nearly 50 years.

"If I tell (kids) to run through that fence, they can do it," he said. "That's what they would do, and I'm proud of them."

True to his humble nature, Barnett was unassuming about being named WSAZ Hometown Hero.

"I thank you very much for this, but I don’t deserve it," he said.

The many kids he has inspired would say otherwise, as would their parents.
