HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Firefighters say a stove fire at the Renaissance Center in Huntington could have been a lot worse, had the sprinkler system not extinguished it in time.
The fire started in one of the apartments Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters say the woman inside left something cooking on the stove. She fell and injured her wrist when the fire broke out, so she couldn't escape. However, firefighters say the sprinkler system kicked on and extinguished the flames. She is expected to be okay.
