HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Choosing the right college is a major decision. Saturday Marshall University opened it's doors to hundreds of high school students looking to make the right selection for them.

The open house had 600 prospective students from across the country, even all the way from New Mexico!

They were able to tour the campus and get a feel for what it would be like to spend the next four years of their lives at Marshall.

Marshall University President Dr. Stephen Kopp says that "One of the most important parts of recruiting for new students is the on campus experience."

Dr. Kopp went on to say that the beautiful weather Saturday made the experience even better for those on the tour.

The next formal open house is set for February.
