MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - This is a big weekend for a half dozen West Virginia University and Marshall University football players.
WVU has its largest contingency of players hoping to be taken in the NFL draft since 2001.
Marshall quarterback Bernard Morris also hopes to be picked.
West Virginia's highest rated position player is fullback Owen Schmitt.
WVU draft class also includes running back Steve Slaton, wide receiver Darius Reynaud and defensive end Johnny Dingle. The university says that if the NFL snaps them up, the trio would be the largest number of underclassmen to leave school early in Mountaineer history.
WVU defensive tackle Keilen Dykes also could be an appealing late-round pick.
The draft begins at 3 p.m. Saturday and continues Sunday.
