Reporter: The Associated Press

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Blake Griffin has aggravated a left knee injury during U.S. Olympic team training camp and has returned to Los Angeles for evaluation.

The Clippers forward was hurt during a scrimmage Wednesday, a person with knowledge of the details said, confirming a Yahoo Sports report.

Anthony Davis is returning to Las Vegas and could be in uniform when the Americans play an exhibition game Thursday night against the Dominican Republic, the person said on condition of anonymity because there was no announcement from the team. The Dominicans are led by John Calipari, Davis' coach at Kentucky.

The No. 1 overall pick is a team alternate after failing to make the 12-man roster.

Players can be replaced on the roster in case of injury any time up to 48 hours before the start of the Olympics.
