WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) - Pat Carter has captured his 13th West Virginia Amateur title, earning a two-stroke victory at The Greenbrier resort.

Carter shot a 3-over-par 73 in the final round Thursday on the Old White TPC Course. It's his first win since 2006. The 44-year-old Huntington golfer is second all-time behind Bill Campbell's 15 wins.

Carter's four-round total of 4-over 288 is the highest winning score on the Greenbrier's two-course rotation since 1994.

Oak Hill's Winston Canada also shot a 73 and finished second.

Marshall golfer Jeremy Rogers entered the final round tied for the lead with Carter and Penn State golfer Jay Woodward. Rogers finished in third place three shots back after a 76. Woodward shot 79 and tied for sixth.
