Speedy Pace Integral to Ohio State's New Approach

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - No matter what an Ohio State player does, Urban Meyer wants it done quickly.

Even if a Buckeye goes the wrong way on a play, he gets extra credit if, at the very least, he doesn't dawdle doing it.

Heading into the season opener Saturday against Miami (Ohio), Meyer's first edition of the Buckeyes features substantial changes to the offense.

But more important than the Xs and Os is the pace of play on both sides of the ball for No. 18 Ohio State.

No wonder several Buckeyes players advise fans to save their restroom and concession trips until halftime. Leave your seat, they say, and you just might miss a 70-yard touchdown. Or a dozen other plays.
