ORIGINAL STORY
It's a crime police are calling despicable. A woman was robbed after she fell asleep in a hospital waiting room. The criminal was caught on tape, but he is still on the run.

The Charleston Police Department has named the man pictured below -- the one wearing the overalls -- one of Charleston's Most Wanted.

Detectives say the surveillance picture shows him using a credit card that was stolen from a woman at CAMC Memorial in the ICU waiting room on December 16, 2007. The picture is from the Chevron One Stop in South Charleston.

The woman is from out of state. She was visiting her ill mother, who died a few days later. Police say she and another woman were in the waiting room and fell asleep at about 4:30am -- and when they woke up about a half hour later, both of their purses were gone.

Police tell us the suspect used the stolen credit card at several stores from Kanawha City to Teays Valley -- ultimately spending about six hundred dollars. They say he could live anywhere in our region.

According to police, the suspect was accompanied by another man in the store. You can see him in talking with the suspect in a couple pictures below -- he's wearing a very dark coat.

Police hope that because the picture is so clear, someone will easily recognize the suspect. He's facing several felony charges when he's caught.

Call Detective Snodgrass at the Charleston Police Department at (304) 348-6480 if you have any information about this man.
