CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police in Charleston say a woman wasted no time clearing out another woman's bank account, racking up hundreds of dollars in purchases all over the city -- just minutes after her debit card was stolen.

The Charleston Police department has named the woman in the pictures (see links to fullsize pics below) one of Charleston's Most Wanted.

The pictures are from surveillance video recorded March 4 at the Wal-Mart at Southridge, where she bought an X-Box video game system.

Detectives say the debit card the suspect used was stolen from a purse at Nautilus, and then used at Wal-Mart, Young's Department Store, and Shop-N-Go.

Altogether, police say the suspect spent almost $600 at three stores before the card was canceled.

Call Detective G.R. Daniels at the Charleston Police Department if you have any information about the suspect: (304) 348-6480.

From personal experience the police or the stores do not care if it is stolen. It took me over 1 year with an attorney to try to clear my name. When I thought I had it finished more stuff comes up even years later. This is something that needs to be taken serious and then maybe we would not have to pay high prices for the stolen stuff.

is it true that if you think your about to be mugged after getting money from an atm that if you type in your password backwords that the bank notifies the police?

You do not have to use the pin on purchases if you tell them to use it as a credit card instead of a debit. they SHOULD, however, ask for ID for verification that the card belongs to the person that is using it, but that is a rare practice anymore, so it isnt hard to see how this happened

You don't have to use a debit card with a pin. You can hit cancel and then credit and just sign your name. My advice, don't sign the back of the card, store are supposed to (not that they always do this) ask for id if your card is not signed.

The video pics of the "carwash beating" in Florida was better than this. Doesn't make sense to me.

i dont have a bank/debit card and dont want one for odvious reasons but it seems to me thier would be a 4 digit pin number for the owners of these cards and if their is such a pin # how are these crooks obataining the them??

'...all over the city -- just minutes after her debit card was stolen'. Things like these are why I dont like our local news- whoever writes their material fumbles around and ends up coming up with things that are either just plain silly sounding or flat out physically impossible. Charleston is a big place, im sure you all know that. so for her to rack up all these charges 'all over the city...just minutes after stealing the card' is a play on drama that just flat out doesnt make sense. stop trying to beef up the dramatic wording of your stories and start beefing up on having them make sense. the news is already dramatic enough around here without making it sound silly by trying to pump up the volume.

I totally agree with "Me"

Funny how stores have such lousy security systems. My home security system produces perfectly clear Pictures and didnt cost all that much either. At least the cops know who this woman is now. I agree with "ME" that credit cards should have photos on them like drivers license.

I have worked as a cashier in the past and I always checked IDs for checks and credit cards. That should be a law in order to protect the safety of consumers. These banks/credit card companies should start putting photos on credit/debit cards as a safety precaution.

Those pics are really bad. I doubt there will be and id from them. I hope she can recoup her money.

this goes to show u what a joke of survelliance systems all these stores got and makes u wonder why people get away and do these things on a daily effort

To people who complain about the pictures they post in articles, as you can see smaller pictures are better!

Good luck catchen this woman the images are too fuzzy to see what she looks like. A better picture would be more helpful!
