CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Detectives need your help to identify and catch a man they say went shopping with someone else's gift card.

The Charleston Police Department has named the man in the surveillance video & pictures one of Charleston's Most Wanted. He's wearing a maroon and white striped polo shirt and light-colored ballcap.

Police say the video shows the suspect cashing in $1,500 worth of gift cards at Home Depot at Southridge. The two cards and $3,500 in cash were stolen at about 6pm on June 18th from a car parked at Kirk Field on Washington Street in St. Albans -- and they were used at about 9pm the same night.

The suspect bought Dewalt power tools and two window air conditioners. Detectives say the suspect initially only purchased the A/C units, but then kept bringing up more items until he maxed out the gift cards.

Investigators believe he was driving a 1990s Ford station wagon -- and he put one of the A/C units on the roof.

Police are asking you to call them if you can help identify the man in this video. Contact Detective Bobby Eggleton at Charleston Police at (304) 348-6480 or Patrolman Mark Gilbert at St. Albans Police at (304) 727-2251.

Charleston's most wanted list is lame! I mean come on, these are petty criminals! What about the people who are murdering and raping? Lets see their mugs up here. They are the ones that we really need off of the streets. Who really cares about someone stealing gift cards or cashing forgery checks at a pawn shop? Yes I know those are crimes and they need to be stopped, but they aren't serious crimes and don't deserve this much attention.
