SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Detectives in South Charleston believe that the key to solving a pair of robberies in Kanawha County last week is car the suspect was driving.

The first robbery happened at the 7-Eleven in the 3800 block of MacCorkle Avenue in Kanawha City at about 3:09 a.m. last Wednesday. Then, at about 4:20 a.m., the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Kanawha Turnpike and Chestnut Street in South Charleston was robbed. Police say it appears the same suspect was involved in both incidents.

The suspect did not show a weapon, but kept his hand in his shirt to indicate that he might have had a gun, investigators say.

The suspect is believed to be a man about 5 feet 7 inches tall, 160 pounds.

Surveillance video from a nearby business in South Charleston picked up his vehicle. It's believed to be a 1999–2004 Green and Silver 4-door Chevrolet Tracker LT. It has a small amber light on the roof and white lettering on the rear window. It could possibly be some kind of delivery vehicle or flag car.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or suspect is asked to contact Detective C.A. Cook at the South Charleston Police Department at (304) 744-6903 ext 110.

Yes looks like a vehicle that is very fuel effective, four wheel drive, and easy to get around in. The type of vehicle used by security at coal mines. They also use these amber colors.

Dear Mr. former tracker owner, You are correct I will change this in my report. I did not notice the differences in the colored fender flares and was unaware of the available 02 and 03 LT package on the tracker. Thank you Mr. former tracker owner.
