Police say they were caught on tape using a stolen credit card to go on a shopping spree. Now, detectives are asking for your help to identify the four suspects.

The Charleston Police Department has named these people pictured four of Charleston's Most Wanted.

In the pictures: the men are wearing blue and gray shirts, and the women's shirts are red and either white or pink. Police say the woman in the light colored shirt signed the victims's name -- and the man in the gray shirt swiped it through the machine.

Detectives say they used a credit card from the West Virginia Medical Group to buy a lawn trimmer from the Lowes in Kawawha City. This happened on July 6, 2007.

Police say the stolen credit card was used several times.

If you have any information about these suspects, call the Charleston detectives at (304) 348-6480.

This is the reason I don't have a credit card anymore. Why should I? When all I have to look forward to, is someone steal the card. Buying something I want, but can't afford. Even if I did get it, all I have to look forward to is high interest rates anyway.

I have written in the signature line of my credit cards and debit card "Check ID" not once has a clerk ever looked at that or asked for my ID. The only time they do is when there register pops up and asks for it.

Why don't credit card companies and all businesses require anyone using a card to 1) be the person the card was issued to & 2) produce valid I.D. to prove you are the one authorized to use the card. 3) Be denied purchase if not the person on the card and/or no I.D.

Maybe it should be federal law that you have to have a photo ID to use a credit card...wouldn't that cut down on alot of stolen credit card use

It's scary how easy it is to steal someone else's money and life away from them just by signing a name on a screen.

If lowes would hire some more workers and open more than one check out line they could check for proper ID

I know I work at a very large retail chain and we do not ask for ID unless the register prompts us to. The reason behind this is the customer surveys reveal that being asked for ID takes up time while in the checkout line. Others think they are being accused of stealing the credit card or check being used. I'm only repeating what I have been told from the time I became a cashier at the retail chain. I'm not a manager nor do I have the access to the information they are providing to us. I know, myself, as a customer I would want the employee to ask for ID when I use a credit card or a check.. I do realize not all businesses have the same policy but just to let the public know.. Some business do not require ID when using these forms of payment. Which I do not agree with. I believe that you should provide a valid ID with either one.

If I go some where and write a check, 99% of the time, I'm asked for ID. I don't know why they don't when someone uses a credit/debit card. I know it may inconvenience people but if it would stop people like this from committing these crimes, I'd say go for it.
