3/30/08 For months, police in Chesapeake had been looking for three people suspected of preying on a 93-year-old woman. This month, they found two of them - already in jail - while the search for the third goes on. Jessica Cook, 23, Michael Chesney, 42, and James Anthony Smith (age unavailable) are accused of stealing checks from Mona Petry of Chesapeake last June and using them to drain hundreds of dollars from Petry's BB&T bank account, said Chesapeake Police Chief Jack Ice. The three tricked Petry into allowing them into her house at 15-129th Street by saying they were offering to perform household repairs for her, Ice said. While in the house, one took the checkbook, then all three left, he said.
