It was a radio play that sparked panic among listeners.
On October 30, 1938 fake news bulletins and simulated on-scene reports were used to portray an invasion by Martians. People thought the invasion was real. They freaked.
The radio play starred Orson Welles and aired on CBS. It of course has been re-made a few times. Most recently starring Tom Cruise.

Question
Can you name the radio play that sparked panic on October 30, 1938?
