No need to tell you today is Veterans Day, but did you know this federal holiday had a previous name.
President Woodrow Wilson first named the holiday in 1919 marking the end of World War One.
So why did they pick November 11th... because major hostilities of World War formally came to a halt in the 11th hour or the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
Now this holiday honors the 25 million military veterans.
Question:
When President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed this federal holiday in 1919 what was it known as?
Answer:
Armistice Day
Winner:
Robbie Schuhl
Cheshire, Ohio
