Great Balls of Fire Jerry Lee Lewis did what...
It was on this day in history a scandal broke that would ruin much of what Lewis accomplished in the year 1957 after recording "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" and "Great Balls of Fire."
On this day, 1957 Lewis secretly married Myra Gale Brown in Tennessee. That marriage went under the radar for a short while, but exploded after a show in London.
You see this wasn't just any old marriage, Myra, Jerry Lee's third wife had a unique relationship with the rock star touted to equal Elvis' fame...
Unfortunately the scandal is said to have brought Lewis' career to a screeching halt.
