This Tokyo Tower opened to the public on this day in history, 1958 .
Peaking at just under 1,100 feet this is the tallest self-supporting steel structure in the world and the tallest artificial structure in Japan. Most of the activity the tower sees comes in the form of tourism, it is not only an observation tower, but also a observation tower.
This Eiffel Tower-inspired beauty is colored white and international orange to comply with air safety regulation and it is definitely a sight to see with its seasonal lighting.
