CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Nearly $55 million in federal funds are heading to West Virginia to support education jobs.
The funding announced Monday by U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan is part of a $10 billion appropriation aimed at supporting education-related jobs in the U.S.
The $54.6 million destined for West Virginia is intended to keep teachers in the classroom. The funding will be distributed based on population figures.
