CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ)-- West Virginia’s unemployment rate was at an all time low last month and Manpower Temp Agency says it's having trouble finding workers for jobs.
"I think we've seen less people come in that what we have seen which is an interesting story in itself when people are saying that they're not any jobs out there," said Diane Strong of Manpower.
Strong says Manpower has the jobs, just not the men and women to do them, "we need more people so that voice needs to get out, we have jobs that we need people for a lot of times people during this economy will say the jobs are so bad that I can't find a job," she said.
Some West Virginian's are facing hard times, according to Workforce West Virginia, More than 4,400 claims were filed in September of this year, that’s up by nearly one-thousand from the 3,509 claims that were filed in September of 2007.
Mountain Mission has also seen an increase in requests for help.
Some calls for help are coming from people with jobs, those battling to stay afloat with the higher cost of living.
Despite this economic storm, Manpower officials say West Virginia is fairing much better than other states in this economy.
