CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Boone County resident Jennifer Hall-Massey appeared Tuesday on national television to discuss drinking water issues in the community of Prenter, W.Va.
A few weeks ago, Massey traveled to New York for the taping of "The Dr. Oz Show." On Tuesday, that episode featuring Massey aired nationwide.
Several of Massey's neighbors from Prenter gathered to watch the show. Massey told Dr. Oz the drinking water in her community has been making people sick. She said her children have had skin and dental problems because of the water.
She even blames her brother's death on the water. He had a brain tumor.
Massey says every American should have access to clean water.
"We have digital cable," she said. "We have everything you have in Charleston with the exception of cell service ... To think we have toxins running through our tap, it's just unheard of."
Prenter will soon get public water. Last August, there was a groundbreaking ceremony for a new water line. Public water should be flowing in Prenter by March.
