Emergency Officials Announce Public Notification System

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County emergency officials launched a new public notification system on Thursday.

The public will now be able to receive important information during an emergency via their cellphones and unlisted phones.

You can register to receive the notifications by calling 304-744-6843 or by clicking on the link below.

County leaders tell WSAZ.com the personal information will not be released to any other agency.

We're also told regular text messaging rates apply.
