SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The economy may be down and the auto industry still treading water, but a man with decades of experience is taking a chance on a new dealership.
Sim Fryson is opening up a new Acura dealership in South Charleston. He's taken over Joe Holland's old Chrysler lot. The company will employ about 30 people.
Fryson has decades of experience in the industry, but decided to take a break back in 2005 when he closed his dealership in Ashland, Ky.
Now he's opening shop in the Kanawha Valley where he grew up.
"I've been across the country with several successful business ventures," Fryson said. "I've always wanted to get back here because I really believe this is the best kept secret in the country."
Construction has been underway at the dealership for about three weeks. Fryson says a lot of work is going in to transforming the old space into a welcome environment for customers and employees.
Fryson says he's ready for any challenge, even if that means riding out the fluctuating economy.
"I don't worry, I have a lot of faith," Fryson said. "I can't foresee the future, but I know that I have the faith that it will work out best for me."
He expects to open his doors by the end of December.
