Verizon Communications Plans to Add 240 Jobs in W.Va.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Verizon Communications says it's planning to hire 240 full-time employees in West Virginia.

Verizon says the jobs it announced Tuesday pay from $10 to $31 an hour. They cover a wide range of work, from sales to customer service.

Verizon says applicants should be willing work all shifts, including holidays. The company says prospective workers can apply online at

The West Virginia Public Service Commission is weighing the proposed sale of Verizon's land lines to Frontier Communications, part of a deal that includes 14 states.
