UPDATE: Man Arrested on 3rd-Offense DUI Charge after Crash in Cross Lanes

CROSS LANES, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was arrested on a third-offense DUI charge after a crash Friday that involved him nearly hitting two other cars head on, Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say.

They say James Dean was driving his car in the 5500 block of Big Tyler Road in Cross Lanes when the crash occurred about 3:30 p.m.

Two people were taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries was unknown.

After a field sobriety test, deputies said Dean was impaired at the time of the crash.

According to the criminal complaint, Dean has been convicted of driving under the influence two other times.

His bond had been set at $25,000.

CROSS LANES, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An accident involving three cars is causing some traffic tie-ups in Cross Lanes.

The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of Big Tyler Road.

Dispatchers say they are still waiting on details but it is possible this was a head-on collision.

It is not known if there are any injuries at this time.
