CROSS LANES, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A couple staying at a motel in Cross Lanes was robbed late Sunday night.
According to a news release, the man knocked on the couple's door at the Motel 6 in Cross Lanes about 11:20 p.m. and said he "hated to do this in front of the baby," and then pulled out a handgun and ordered the man and woman to give him their valuables.
Deputies say the man told the victims if they called for help he would come back and "kill them." The man got away with the woman's purse and about $200.
The woman staying in the room told deputies she was familiar with the man who robbed them, according to investigators.
The suspect's name has not been released, but witnesses say the man left in a maroon colored Oldsmobile Alero, possibly driven by a female.
